Terms of Service

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of HandFonty, an online font maker that turns your handwriting and calligraphy into installable fonts (the "Service"). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.

The Service

HandFonty lets you draw letters, refine their spacing and outlines, and download the result as font files (such as OTF and TTF). Some features, including image upload and AI-assisted tools, may be added, changed or labelled as beta over time. We may update, suspend or discontinue parts of the Service, and will give reasonable notice of changes that materially reduce what you can do.

Your account

• You need an account to save font projects and download fonts. You can sign up with email and password or a supported third-party login.
• You must give accurate information and keep your login details secure. You are responsible for activity under your account.
• You must be at least 13 years old, or the minimum age required in your country, to use the Service.

Your fonts and content

You own the fonts you make. The strokes you draw, the images you upload and the fonts generated from them ("Your Content") remain yours. HandFonty claims no ownership of your handwriting or your fonts.

• Commercial use. You may install, use, share, sell or license fonts made from your own handwriting, including for commercial projects.
• Licence to operate the Service. You give us a limited, non-exclusive licence to store, process, render and convert Your Content, but only as needed to provide the Service to you (for example, syncing drafts between your devices, generating previews and building font files). This licence ends when you delete the content or your account, except for copies in routine backups, which are deleted on their normal schedule.
• Reference guides are not included. The gray reference letters shown while you draw are guides only. They are never included in your font files.
• Your responsibility. Only upload or draw content you have the right to use. Do not create fonts from another person's handwriting, signature or copyrighted lettering without their permission.

Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• Use the Service to forge signatures or documents, or for fraud or impersonation.
• Upload content that is unlawful or infringes anyone's rights, or that contains malware.
• Probe, overload or interfere with the Service, or try to get around rate limits or access controls.
• Scrape the Service or access it through automated means, except through interfaces we provide for that purpose.
• Resell or offer access to the Service itself without our written permission.

We may remove content or suspend accounts that break these rules.

Free and paid features

Making and downloading a handwriting font is free. If we offer paid plans or credits, the price, billing period and what is included will be shown before you pay. Payments are processed by third-party providers, such as Stripe, PayPal or Creem, under their own terms. Subscriptions renew automatically until cancelled, and you can cancel at any time from your account settings; cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period. Refund requests are handled case by case and where the law requires.

Our intellectual property

The HandFonty name, logo, website, software and editor design belong to us and are protected by law. These Terms do not give you any rights to them, other than to use the Service as intended.

Termination

You can delete your font projects or close your account at any time. We may suspend or end your access if you seriously or repeatedly breach these Terms, or if the law requires it. Before closing an account for reasons other than abuse, we will try to give you a chance to download your fonts.

Disclaimers

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available". We work to keep your projects safe and your fonts correct, but we cannot guarantee the Service will be uninterrupted or error-free, or that a font will work in every application. Keep copies of fonts that matter to you.

Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, HandFonty will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for lost profits, data or goodwill. Our total liability for any claim relating to the Service will not be more than the greater of the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim or USD 50. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.

Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. For material changes, we will update the date at the top of this page and, where appropriate, notify you through the Service or by email. If you keep using the Service after changes take effect, you accept the updated Terms.
