Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains what information HandFonty (the "Service") collects when you use our online handwriting font generator, why we collect it, and the choices you have. Your handwriting is personal, so we collect only what we need to run the Service.

Information we collect

Account information

• Your email address, name and password (stored only as a secure hash) when you sign up.
• If you sign in with Google or GitHub, your name, email address and profile picture from that provider. We never receive your password for those services.

Your handwriting and fonts

• The strokes you draw, including point positions, pressure, brush and smoothing settings.
• The vector outlines, spacing and metrics generated from them, alternate letter designs, ligatures and saved versions of each character.
• The font files you build, and project names.
• Images of handwriting you upload, once image upload is available.

Technical and usage information

• At sign-up: your IP address, language, and the campaign parameters (UTM tags) in the link you arrived from.
• For each signed-in session: IP address and browser user agent, used to keep your account secure.
• Basic records of what you do in the product, such as creating a project or building a font, so we can provide support and prevent abuse.

Payment information

If you buy a paid feature, your payment is handled by our payment provider (such as Stripe, PayPal or Creem). We receive the order status and amount, plus limited details such as your billing country. We never see or store your full card number.

Information stored on your device

To keep your work safe offline, the editor saves drafts of your glyphs in your browser's local storage (IndexedDB) and syncs them to your account when you're back online. We also use cookies and similar storage to keep you signed in, remember your language and save your editor preferences.

How we use your information

We use your information to:

• Provide the Service: save and sync your projects, render previews and build your font files.
• Run your account, process payments and send service emails, such as verification, password resets and receipts.
• Answer your support requests.
• Keep the Service secure and prevent fraud, spam and abuse.
• Understand overall usage so we can improve the product.

We do not sell your personal information or your handwriting. We do not use your strokes, uploaded images or fonts to train AI models that are offered to other users. Any AI-assisted feature works on your own project to give results back to you.

Analytics and cookies

If analytics are enabled, we use privacy-respecting tools (such as Google Analytics or Plausible) to measure aggregate traffic. Where the law requires it, analytics and advertising cookies load only after you agree through the cookie banner, and you can change your choice at any time under Cookie Settings in the footer.

Sharing

We share information only with:

• Service providers who host our infrastructure, store files, send email, process payments or provide analytics, and only as needed to perform those services for us.
• Authorities, when the law requires it or when it is needed to protect the rights, safety and property of our users or the Service.
• A successor, if HandFonty is merged or acquired. In that case this policy, or a policy that is at least as protective, will continue to apply to your information.

Your fonts are private by default. We do not publish your handwriting or fonts unless you choose to share them.

Retention and deletion

We keep your account and projects while your account is active. When you delete a project or your account, the related strokes, versions and font files are deleted from our active systems. Copies in backups are removed on their normal schedule. We may keep limited records, such as payment records, for as long as the law requires.

Security

We use encryption in transit, hashed passwords, access controls and per-account rate limits to protect your information. No system is perfectly secure, but we work to protect your data and will notify you of any breach that affects you, as required by law.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, export or delete your personal information, and to object to or restrict some processing. You can edit your profile and delete projects in your account settings at any time. For any other request, contact us and we will respond within the time the law requires.

Children

The Service is not intended for children under 13, or under the minimum age in their country. We do not knowingly collect their personal information. If you believe a child has given us information, please contact us and we will delete it.

International transfers

Your information may be processed in countries other than your own. When we transfer it, we use appropriate safeguards as required by applicable law.

Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. For material changes, we will update the date at the top of this page and, where appropriate, notify you through the Service or by email.
